BIO: Dale Fischlein began his highly successful racing career at the age of 9 in the form of go-karts. Winning races seem natural as Dale earned numerous local, state, and regional titles including 2 International Karting Federation National Championships. As Dale enjoyed being on top of the national karting world, he knew his future lay in auto racing. Dale won his first Sportsman Division race in only his second attempt while also being the youngest driver competing. In 1982, only his third season of stock car racing, he won 32 IMCA modified circuit races out of the 70 he competed in while placing in the top ten 67 times and the top five 63 times. Those feats earned him 4 track championships and the 1982 IMCA National Championship. After dominating the IMCA modified circuit, Dale decided to move on. He decided to compete in the NASCAR Winston Racing Series Late Model Division and in his first season Dale landed 6 main event wins. Over the following 3 seasons Dale collected 1 All-Iowa point title, 2 track championships, and 42 main event wins. At the end of the 1987 racing season, Dale sold his race team to move to North Carolina to pursue a dream to become a NASCAR Cup Series driver. After not landing a ride, Fischlein moved back to the mid-west after just 6 months in the South. Upon his return, Dale accepted an offer he had previously turned down, to drive for a championship team and win the prestigious Winston Central Region Championship. With already half of the season wasted, Dale knew he had to put up some incredible numbers to have any chance of winning the title. After winning 26 of the 46 main events he entered, Fischlein won the prestigious 1988 NASCAR Winston Central Region Championship. Calling it quits after his banner year, Fischlein once again moved to North Carolina due to his aspirations for a NASCAR Cup Series career. During the 1991 season Dale would race at the famed Hickory Speedway and being his first time racing a stock car on asphalt he still posted 2 main event wins, a pole, and a top five finish in the point standings. After unable to restore his ride, Dale accepted an offer from Dave Marcis to become crew chief for his Cup car and have the opportunity to race 4-6 ARCA races. After racing at Daytona, Talladega, Michigan, and Atlanta, Dale posted a season best 13th place finish at Atlanta. Dale spent 2 more years with Marcis and then moved on to pursue a NASCAR Busch Series offer with Murphy Motorsports. Dale competed at Daytona, Talladega, Michigan, Atlanta, Dover, Milwaukee, Homestead Florida, and Charlotte. Dale posted a career best 4th place qualifying effort at Charlotte in 1998 along with 2 other top ten qualifying efforts. He also placed a career best 13th place at Talladega. Dale was leading late in the race, but a dead battery the culpret for forcing Fischlein to pit. In Dale's 27 years of racing, he has posted: 2 National karting titles, 1 IMCA National Title, 1 NASCAR Regional title, 8 Divisional titles, 7 track championships, and 131 main event wins in sanctioning bodies such as NASCAR Winston Racing Series, NASCAR Busch Grand National, ARCA, IMCA, UMP, USAC stock cars, NDRA, and STARS. Now Dale is looking to excel in something other than driving, guiding his son, Colby, to a successful stock car racing career.
